‘Civilization 6’ Gets New Season Pass With New Content Sid Meier

A new season pass has been announced for Civilization 6, giving players new content every two months.

Firaxis has announced its New Frontier season pass for Civilization 6 which will add eight new civilizations, six new games modes, and nine new leaders to the strategy game which first released back in October 2016.

The pack will offer players new content between May 2020 and March 2021. The DLC will be made available every two months starting on May 21st with the Maya and Gran Colombia Pack which adds leaders from the Maya and Gran Colombia civilizations, the new Apocalypse game mode, as well as new natural wonders, resources, and City-States.

The July Ethiopia DLC Pack will include a new civilization, a new leader, the Secret Societies game mode, as well as new infrastructure and districts. The third pack, set for release in September, will include two new civilizations, two new leaders, a new unannounced game mode, and more content.

The fourth and sixth updates, dropping November 2020 and March 2021, will include a new civilization, a new leader, a new game mode, and more content. The fifth pack, which will drop in January 2021, will include a new civilization, two new leaders, another new game mode, and more.

Additional Content

Civilization 6’s New Frontier pack is available now for $40 for PC, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, the Xbox One, and PS4. Each of the DLC packs can be bought individually, but purchasing the entire pack will grant you a new persona pack for Teddy Roosevelt and Catherine De Medici which includes a new leader model and background, new game bonus and an updated agenda to match the leader’s new personality.

The new personas include the Rough Rider Teddy who does a great job at keeping peace on his home continent and Magnificence Catherine who has the ability to flood the world with culture via Luxuries.

If all of that isn’t enough, Firaxis will also release content in between the DLC Packs which offer players new maps and scenarios.

Speaking about the new season pass, Civilization 6 lead game designer Anton Strenger said in a statement: “We’re very excited to be adding even more content to Civilization VI, ensuring longtime players and franchise newcomers have something fresh to look forward to in the months to come.

“By delivering new content on a regularly scheduled basis, we’ll have more opportunities than ever with the New Frontier Pass to connect with our community as we actively develop and deliver content.”

Civilization 6 launched in 2016 and since then, the game has received numerous expansions including 2018’s Rise And Fall which bought the new concept of rising and falling civilizations including Golden and Dark Ages. The second expansion was 2019’s Gathering Storm pack which added natural disasters, a climate system and more. Finally, the game received a battle royale update in September 2019 for multi-player.

The first pack from Civilization 6’s New Frontier season pass will drop later this month on May 21st.
