Since November 2019, you don’t need a console connected to a television or a very powerful computer to play some of the most advanced games with good graphic quality. Google has launched Google Stadia, a new service of streaming of video games to which can be accessed from a mobile phone, tablet, smart TV, a television with Chromecast or a laptop.
How Does Google Stadia Work?
Google Stadia games run on a very powerful remote server, not on the device the user is playing them on. These servers transmit the video of the game in real-time with a variable quality depending on the connection speed. However, it is possible to have a 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. Google uses a compression algorithm specifically designed for this service with which it manages to optimize the available bandwidth and reduce latency. To play at the highest quality, an internet speed of about 35 Mbps will be required.
To control the games, you can use traditional console controls connected by USB to the device you want to play, but Google has created a unique controller, which also reduces the time it takes for the signal to reach the server and reflect a little more. The movement on the screen and with which you can play wirelessly.
How Much Does Google Stadia Cost?
There are two services. Stadia Pro and Stadia Base. The subscription to Stadia Pro is 9.99 dollars per month. It includes access to a continually evolving catalog of games, as if it were the Netflix catalog, for example. In addition to these games included in the price, there are others you will need to purchase to play, mainly new releases. Stadia Pro customers will receive Destiny 2: The Collection as their first title.
Stadia will also give the option of a free service in 2020 that will be known as Stadia Base that will not include games, but that will allow you to buy access to titles individually.
Only with Stadia Pro will it be possible to play video games in 4K at 60 frames per second, with HDR and 5.1 sound. Stadia Base will only allow you to play them in 1080p, 60fps, without HDR and stereo sound.
What Video Games Does Google Stadia Have?
The initial catalog has 31 titles, but it adds up to over 120 games lately. Only Destiny 2 is included in the Stadia Pro. The rest will have to be purchased separately, but Google promises that the Pro service will have more titles included in the price in the future.

What Controller Can I Use To Play Stadia?
Stadia works with any controller connected to the device in which it is played. However, to get the most out of it and have access to various options of the service -such as sharing videos of games on YouTube, it will be necessary to use the official controller.
This controller offers the possibility of connecting directly to game servers, reducing latency. At first, it will only work in wireless mode with the Chromecast Ultra device. To play on the computer, for example, it will be necessary to connect it via a USB-C cable physically.
This limitation is similar to that of third-party controls. To play Stadia, it will be necessary to be physically connected to the device. You will not be able to use controls connected by Bluetooth.
It is also important to note that some of the functions planned for Stadia, such as voice chats and integration with the Google Assistant, will be limited or not available during the first months of the service.
The official command can be purchased for 70 dollars in the coming months. Google also sells the Founders Edition pack, which costs 130 dollars and includes the remote, a Chromecast Ultra and three months of Stadia Pro service.
What Devices Will I Be Able To Play Stadia On?
Google’s intention is for Stadia to be available on as many devices as possible, but initially, access will be somewhat limited. It will be accessible from a Chromecast Ultra device, the Chrome browser on conventional computers and Pixel 3, 3a and 4 phones (or their XL variants).
Google is expected to distribute apps to play directly on smart TVs, other Android phones and tablets, or iOS devices shortly.
How to get 2 months of Stadia Pro Free?
Guess what? You do not need to apply any coupon for this one. We simply download the Stadia application on the mobile (faster option) or option 2, you enter the Google Stadia website. Once inside, we log in to our Google account (generally Gmail), we select the free two-month trial of Google Stadia Pro. Once this is done, it will ask us for a form of payment. You can create a virtual card from mobile banking that expires in one month and with a minimum balance of 1 dollar.
So, if we forget to cancel the subscription, the free version is not renewed. Then, we will not be charged with anything. In case you cannot create a virtual card, use the real one, just remember to cancel the subscription. From the Stadia account settings, you can cancel the renewal.
Once this is done, we have our Google Stadia account ready to play. I recommend using Chrome or Edge Chromium to play in Stadia because Firefox does not support Stadia.
