Motorola One Is Getting Android 10 Update

Android 10 still does not reach all phones. However, little by little, it is doing so. Now, it has arrived at the Motorola One. It is a smartphone that has launched for a year and a half.

The update is being rolled out to all mid-range users globally, not uniformly, but gradually. Thus, it is being released in batches, corresponding to specific units and regions.

Android 10 is coming to Motorola One with all the inherent features of the OS. It includes a refined dark mode, new animations and a renewed and more organized design in all sections.

“The update to Android 10 started on March 25, 2020″, warns Motorola’s official website. This update goes for the retail version. If you bought your phone from an operator, you’d have to wait a little longer.

Who Will Receive the Update?

At the moment, Brazil is the only country where users report the android update. Some users were detailing that the launched firmware package. The firmware has version number QPK30.54-22 and brings Google’s security fixes for February 2020. In theory, this firmware allows you to update your models quickly.

Indeed, Brazil is a market where Motorola focuses a lot. That is why it usually launches several of its phones and presents its OTA updates there first, just like we have right now.

The Motorola One is a phone consisting of a 5.9-inch IPS LCD screen with HD + resolution of 1,520 x 720 pixels and an elongated notch that serves as a home for an 8 MP selfie camera sensor.

The phone adopts Snapdragon 625 chipset. It is a processor that is paired with a 4 GB RAM, a 64 GB internal storage space and a 3,000 mAh capacity battery with support of 15 watts fast charging technology.

Motorola One will not have Android 11 officially

The phone is part of the Android One program, which brings a version closer to the one created by Google and guarantees two version updates. It means that the device will not be officially updated to Android 11.

Note that the Motorola One was released with Android 8.1 Oreo and received an update to the 9 Pie. It has two guaranteed version updates, meaning it will remain on Android 10 from now on – unless you install a custom ROM like LineageOS. The device will have security corrections for another year (it is three years in total).

Android 10 expands dark mode to more parts of the interface. It also brings Smart Reply, which uses machine learning to analyze incoming messages and suggest actions – opening a YouTube link in the corresponding app, for example.

Besides, gesture control has changed. Now, you can return to the previous screen by sliding from the side edges. Of course, there is still an option to keep the Back, Home and Multitasking buttons.

Other devices from the manufacturer have got updates to Android 10 are the Moto G7 Plus, Motorola One Vision and One Action.
