Nokia Will Present 3 New Models On March 19

Nokia planned to show us its new terminals sometime during the 2020 MWC, although they later canceled their participation (before the MWC itself was canceled). The company opted for an undetermined online presentation, until now: the new Nokia will arrive on March 19.

The announcement of the launch was made by Juho Sarvikas, the product director of HMD Global, on Twitter. Although he did not give us many clues about what awaits us, previous leaks told us about the primary candidates. They were Nokia 8.3 5G, Nokia 5.3, Nokia 1.3, and a new feature phone, possibly a reissue of the Nokia Xpress Music.

Although the initial leaks mentioned that we would have a Nokia 8.2, Nokia 5.2, and Nokia 1.3, it is possible that the numbering will change to homogenize all the releases under the same nomenclature. Thus, a Nokia 8.3 5G, a Nokia 5.3, and a Nokia 1.3 are expected instead.

What Are the New Nokia Phones Launched on March 19?

The most powerful would be the Nokia 8.3, with 5G connectivity from the Snapdragon 765, up to 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage, as well as Android 10. It is expected with a 64-megapixel front camera (perhaps motorized), a reader of fingerprints on the back, and 3,500 mAh battery. At the moment, there are no leaks about its appearance. Therefore, we do not know much about it.

What we do have some more information about is Nokia 5.3 or 5.2, depending on which you ask. Evan Blass leaked his supposed appearance, with a drop-shaped notch, a fingerprint reader on the back, and a camera with a provision for the shield of Captain America.

Previous leaks placed it with a mid-range processor such as the Snapdragon 632. It was a version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The details of the cameras are unknown, although it would not be unreasonable to think of a wide-angle, telephoto, and ToF or macro lens main cameras.

We would also have a basic Android mobile, Nokia 1.3. It is expected to launch with moderate specifications. We can assume MediaTek processor, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, and simple 5 MP cameras in front and 13 MP behind.

During the presentation, there would also be time for the features phone, expecting a renewal of the 2009 Nokia XpressMusic that has been sighted in the Chinese TENAA certification, with a 2.4 “screen and a resolution of 240 x 320, 8 MB of RAM, 16 MB of storage (+ MicroSD) and VGA camera.

We will leave doubts next March 19, Father’s Day. The exact time of the event is yet to be known. Although it will be an online event through its YouTube channel, the presentation will take place in London. The Nokia 8.2 will be the first smartphone compatible with 5G networks of the company and will be the main protagonist of this event.
