‘Death Stranding’ And ‘Control’ Dominated 2020 BAFTA Game Awards Nominations

The British Academy of Film and Television Art (BAFTA) has revealed its list of nominations for the upcoming BAFTA Game Awards 2020, and two games are spearheading the list.

Remedy’s Control and Kojima Production’s Death Stranding both lead the list with 11 nominations each, the highest number of nominations for any game in the BAFTA Game Awards’ history.

Control, which was this week added to Sony’s PlayStation Now streaming service, has been nominated for Best Game, Game Design, and Performer in a Leading Role for Courtney Hope as Jesse Faden.

Death Stranding, meanwhile, has been nominated for Performer in a Leading Role for Norman Reedus as Sam Porter, Game Beyond Entertainment, Debut Game and more.

Other games that have been nominated include Luigi’s Mansion 3, Planet Zoo, Outer Wilds, Untitled Goose Game, Concrete Genie, Civilisation VI, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, The Outer Worlds, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and so many others. The event will take place in London at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on April 2nd, 2020, where the awards will be given out and Hideo Kojima will receive a BAFTA fellowship lifetime achievement award.

This year’s event of the BAFTA Game Awards is comprised of 18 categories, an increase from last year’s 14 with new categories Animation, Technical Achievement, Performer in a Leading Role, and Performer in a Supporting Role. For a full list of nominations, take a look below:
