LG V60 ThinQ 5G Launch is Official

It had leaked on occasion, but the LG V60 ThinQ 5G is already official. This is the new flagship of the Korean company. By following the path of its predecessors, it is a smartphone that opts for a second screen. The device will go on sale in Europe, North America and Asia from next month.

In this article, we will bring you some of the official features revealed during its launch. Let’s begin!

Double Screen Design

We begin by looking at its design. This is where we find some sober lines in the back, which comes finished in dark blue and pearl white. Over there, we saw a triple camera and the LED flash in horizontal format and the brand name, but nothing more.

The fingerprint reader is located under the screen. On the side, we find the classic volume up and down buttons, as well as on and off. Anyway, it is confirmed to have MIL-STD 810G and IP68 resistance.

Regarding the screen of the mobile, LG again bet on an OLED panel that this time stretches to 6.8 inches. The format is 20.5.9, its resolution FullHD + (2,460 x 1,080 pixels), which translates into a density of 395 pixels per inch, and is compatible with HDR10 +. All this in a body of 8.9 mm thick and 214 grams in weight.

It is the same size as the accessory dual screen, the LG Dual Screen. As we said, it is a panel that arrives in a kind of phone case sized at 6.8 inches with 20.5: 9 format and FullHD + resolution (2,460 x 1,080 pixels.) It has an additional 2.1-inch rear screen to display information. It weighs 134 grams and is 14.9 mm thick.

The two devices can be combined to enlarge the screen and have a more immersive experience. You can open two applications and use them at the same time or use the accessory to support the phone on a table and watch videos, movies or series. Interestingly, the LG Dual Screen is not in available blue like what we know in previous leaks but will be available in black and white.

Snapdragon 865 and 5G Connectivity

Inside the LG V60 ThinQ 5G, we find 8 GB of RAM. LG also provides the choices for its internal storage with 128 or 256 GB. Of course, it is expandable with microSD cards up to 2 TB. Next to it, it has Snapdragon 865 processor, the latest release of Qualcomm, and the Snapdragon X55 modem.

It means, LG V60 will be compatible with 5G NSA networks (the one that currently exists) and 5G SA (those that will arrive in the future and will offer more speed ).

The operating system is Android 10 with LG UX personalization layer. The battery inside is 5,000 mAh compatible with QuickCharge 4+. For the rest, LG has highlighted LG Pay. Unfortunately, it is a payment gateway that is not available yet in Europe and the USA.

Three cameras with 8K recording

We end up with the photographic section, where LG bets on a batch of four lenses.  There are three sensors in the back and one camera in the front notch.

The rear camera consists of a 64-megapixel sensor with 0.8-micron pixels and f/1.8 aperture, a 13-megapixel sensor with pixels, and one micro lense under a wide-angle lens with 117º field of view and f/1.9 aperture.

Finally, it has a ToF ( Time of Flight ) sensor. It is a technology that serves to improve depth measurements in portraits. Because of this, the device is capable of recording video up to 8K resolution.

As for the selfie, we have a single lens hidden in the notch. The sensor under it has a resolution of 10 megapixels with 72.5º field of view and f/1.9 aperture.

Versions and price of LG V60 ThinQ 5G

According to LG, the V60 ThinQ 5G will be available starting next month in Europe, North America and Asia, although the company has not disclosed prices. We will update when we have more information.

What we do know is that it will arrive in black and white. Also, there will be two versions: 8/128 GB and 8/256 GB. However, LG warned us that the memory configuration might vary depending on the country and the mobile operator.
