Crucial Overview of Apex Legends Global Series

Recently, EA and Respawn have officially announced the Apex Legends Global Series. It is a collection of competitive and live events. Contenders from all across the globe will gather on a single platform and participate in the tournament.

It is a golden opportunity for players to rise above all and compete to become a living legend.

Schedule Overview

  • Eligible teams will be competing in a series of 12 events, throughout 2020-21.
  • The very first Online Event will be on January 25-27, 2020.
  • Online Event on February 29 and March 02, 2020.
  • The first Major will take place on March 13-15, 2020.
  • More than 60 countries and regions are allowed to compete (check below).

There is a total prize pool of more than $3 million for the Global Series.

Structure of Apex Legends Global Series

Throughout the season 2020-21, there will be:

  • 10 Online tournaments
  • 8 Premier tournaments
  • 4 Major tournaments
  • The fourth and last Major is the Global Series Championship.

Online Tournaments

It is the beginning of the Global Series. The teams performing well, will earn Global Series Points and qualify for the live events.

Challenger Events

It is the event for all the gaming community. Teams will compete in the regional competitions. Winners will earn a reserved slot in the upcoming Major.

Premier Events

It is the event in which top teams from each region will compete with each other. It will offer more Global Series Points and advanced invitations to the upcoming Majors.


It is where it all matters. Best teams from all across the planet will compete for the prize pool throughout the year. Winners of the Apex Legends Majors are legitimately considered the best players in the world.

Necessary information about the Majors

As mentioned above, there will be a total of four Majors during Apex Legends Global Series. A total of 100 teams (300 players) will compete for $500,000 prize pool.

The fourth and final Major is the Apex Legends Global Series Championship. Only the top 60 Global Series teams will be attending the event and compete for a massive prize pool of $1 million.

Match Point System

Each Major will come to a climax with a Finals, assimilating the Apex Legends Match Point system. In this system, teams must reach a specific Points threshold to activate Match Point. When a team triggers Match Point and wins the game, the tournament comes to an end and becomes the Apex Legend Champions.

Eligible Countries

In order to participate in Global Series, all the eligibility and PC requirements must be met. There is also a condition that one must be a legal resident of one of the countries listed below.
