Oppo Independently Launched A31 Series after MWC Cancelation

The cancellation of the MWC has caused OPPO to postpone the event of Find X2 Launch. However, the Chinese company today has expanded the mid-range of its catalog with a new smartphone launch. This is the OPPO A31, a model whose specifications and design we saw leaked a few days ago.

This new phone, which has been announced in Indonesia, includes a triple rear camera with a macro lens, a 4,230 mAh battery, and a large 6.5-inch screen as outstanding features. However, do not confuse it with that OPPO A31 that the manufacturer launched years ago, specifically, in 2015.

OPPO begins to copy the strategy of brands such as Huawei, which launched an identical smartphone with different names depending on the country in which it is marketed. This is what we deduce when we see the new OPPO A31, a device that is not similar to the recent OPPO A8 but is identical.

Many cameras, lots of battery and more

The latest models of the OPPO A family have a 6.5-inch HD + screen (1,600 x 720 pixels) with a drop-shaped notch. It has an aspect ratio of 20: 9 and the screen ration of 83%

On the back, we have the fingerprint reader and three rear camera sensors aligned vertically to the left, with the LED flash just below. That camera has a 12 MP main sensor with f / 1.8 aperture. Then, there are a 2 MP camera with f / 2.4 aperture and a 2 MP macro lens with f / 2.4 aperture, respectively. The front camera, meanwhile, has an 8 MP sensor with f / 2.0 aperture.

It has Dual SIM function, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.0, a micro USB port, and a headphone jack. Unfortunately, it lacks NFC.

The rest of the specifications are quite modest. It has the MediaTek Helio P35 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of expandable internal storage with a microSD card option. Its ColorOS 6.1 operating system based on Android 9 Pie.

Those who have gone through multiple economic midrange phones will have noticed a pattern: It is extremely rare to get a medium-low range device with more than 64GB. But the OPPO A31 sports 128GB of storage and. In addition, we can expand it by up to 256GB.

To round off its formation, the OPPO A31 also includes an extremely generous 4230mAh battery. The trouble is that its manufacturer has decided not to include support for fast charging. Our OPPO A31 will support a whole day of intense use but we will have to wait more than two hours charging it to recover it 100%.

Finally, it includes a headphone jack and FM radio.

Price and availability

The A31 is available in two different colors (Mystery Black and Fantasy White) and a single configuration with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. So far, it has only gone on sale in Indonesia, where it has a price of Rp 2,599,000, equivalent to about 190 US Dollars at the current exchange rate.

Unfortunately, it is unknown if it will reach other countries.
