Pinterest Launches A Verified Sales Program Shopping Tab

Pinterest bets on eCommerce even more. Now, the social network aims to become a trusted platform where users can make their purchases. Therefore, it has announced the launch of a verified sales program. This program will allow potential buyers in the social network to know which brands are trusted.

The platform has published a waiting list for interested brands and sellers to sign up for the program. Those who are interested should share with the app their shipping policy and information about their customer service. They also need to share other aspects that serve to ensure a place between the trust accounts indicated by the social network.

With this program, the company aims to turn its platform into a safe shopping space. The initiative is also an opportunity for retailers, as they have pointed out from the social network. They have highlighted the fact that 83% of users have purchased after viewing the sponsored content on the platform.

This functionality adds to those already launched by the social network to boost sales within the platform. Last January, Pinterest published in the United States ‘ Try On Powered by Lens,’ a tool based on augmented reality that allows users to try different shades of lipstick before visiting the website to buy brands such as Estée Lauder, Sephora, Neutrógena or L ‘ Oréal.

How Pinterest Grows So Far

The social network of inspiration and ideas has expanded its influence by having a total of 335 million active users per month during 2019. It represents an increase of 26% every twelve months. In addition to a growth of 51% each year, it makes a total of 1,143 million dollars. There is no doubt that last year’s results are a prelude to what awaits us in 2020.

This is supported by the latest results, as the company increased its revenues by 46% during the last quarter of last year, to reach 400 million dollars.

The firm’s total revenue is estimated to be up to $ 1,520 million in 2020. While the adjusted EBITDA margin will be flat or slightly higher than the 2019 adjusted EBITDA margin of 1%, these are not isolated increases.

In fact, Pinterest has indicated that revenue from shopping ads grew more than double in the second half of 2019, compared to the first half. On the other hand, the number of monthly active advertisers increased by 125%.

These good results have helped the company to unseat Snapchat from third place on podium 2.0 in the United States. They are exactly behind Facebook and Instagram. In this sense, Pinterest obtained 82.4 million users in the United States in 2019, which indicates a 7.4% growth over the previous year.

With data as simple as this one, the social network managed to leave Snapchat behind, which had 80.2 million users last year. Throughout this year, Pinterest will star out across the seas. It has a stride of 4.4% to reach 86 million users.

Apart from increasing the number of users, the platform is interested in making businesses prosper from their hands. Therefore, the social network has implemented new advertising strategies so that businesses can advertise on it more effectively.
