‘Iron Man VR’ Has Been Delayed

Iron Man VR has become the latest video game to be delayed this year.

The upcoming PlayStation Virtual Reality (VR) video game has been delayed, according to developer Camouflaj who announced the news in a tweet made last Friday. In it, Camouflaj revealed that the VR game has been delayed to May this year.

In the tweet, Camouflaj wrote: “In order to deliver on our vision and meet the high expectations of our amazing community, we’ve made the difficult decision to move Marvel’s Iron Man VR to a May 15, 2020 release. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. You’ll be hearing from us again soon!”

The game, which was originally announced early last year, was due for release in February. Iron Man VR allows players to fly and fight in-person as Iron Man via the PlayStation virtual reality headset.

The video game will reportedly see Iron man battle Ghost, a phasing villain depicted in 2018’s Ant-Man And The Wasp. It will also feature characters Nick Fury, Pepper Potts, and AI Friday.

The game’s costume designer has also stated that the Stark suit featured in the game is inspired by the one worn during the famous storyline Demon In A Bottle in which Tony Stark fights alcoholism.

Iron Man VR has already received praise for capturing an accurate but fun Iron Man experience. Polygon, in particular, highlighted the game’s “responsive, intuitive controls” using the PlayStation Move controller.

Although the game has been delayed, several pre-order bonuses have been revealed including various Iron Man suits such as the vintage red and gold suit and three other colours. Players who pre-order will also receive a unique Iron Man VR PS4 theme.

Video Game Delays

Iron Man VR has joined many of the video games that have received delays this year. Last week, CD Projekt Red announced that its eagerly anticipated game Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed until September and that its multiplayer mode will not be playable until around 2022.

In the same week, Crystal Dynamics announced that its Marvel’s Avengers video game has been delayed from May to September, releasing closely to Cyberpunk 2077. Meanwhile, Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated The Last Of Us II was revealed last December to be released in May.

Lastly, it was also announced last week that the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake has been delayed from February to April. The news was announced in a statement on Twitter by producer Yoshinori Kitase.

The statement, which was shared as an image, reads: “We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on.

“In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.”

Kitase states that the decision was made to give the developers a few more weeks to “apply final polish to the game” and deliver the “best possible experience”.
