The LG V60 ThinQ 5G Will Likely Launch at MWC 2020

LG will likely announce the LG V60 ThinQ 5G at the Mobile World Congress. It will take place in Barcelona next month. This will be LG’s second smartphone with 5G connectivity after the company announced the LG V50 ThinQ 5G at the same event last year.

According to the Korean Herald newspaper, the company will launch the LG V60 ThinQ in Barcelona and offer the latest 5G connectivity.

“LG Electronics plans to present the V60 ThinQ as its first smartphone next year and expand its presence in the 5G market,” an industry source explained to Yonhap. “The company expects to increase its shipments in South Korea, the United States, and Japan.”

However, The Korea Herald site only talks about the presence of the LG V60 ThinQ for the next MWC 2020. No mention of the successor of the LG G8 ThinQ. This is interesting because while the V60 ThinQ would be the second LG V to have 5G connectivity the LG G series does not yet have an exponent of similar characteristics.

In recent years, LG’s presence in the Mobile World Congress has not been as prominent as that of other brands. However, the company is willing to turn around the results of its mobile division including amazing things on its smartphones.

Given that Samsung will present the Galaxy S20 a few weeks before and Huawei will probably organize its own event a few weeks later of MWC, LG could monopolize a good part of the prominence of MWC 2020.

LG V60 ThinQ 5G Predictive Specifications

We do not have an official report about its specifications. However, we assume that it will be a better version of its predecessor.

The LG V50 ThinQ 5G was LG’s first smartphone with support for next-generation 5G networks. The LG V50 ThinQ 5 had a 6.4-inch QHD + OLED display and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor with eight cores

It accompanied by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The main camera of the LG V50 ThinQ 5G was designed triple, with 12 MP + 12 MP + 16 MP configuration. It had optical image stabilization and the front camera is dual, 8 MP + 5 MP. Completing its features, the LG V50 had HiFi sound, fingerprint reader, USB-C port, stereo speakers, and a fast-charging 4000 mAh battery both wired and wireless, which in turn can charge other devices.

Rumors suggest that the LG V60 ThinQ 5G could once again have a dual-screen, but there will be an improvement compared to its predecessor. The latest leaks suggest that it will arrive with powerful specifications such as a Snapdragon 865 processor, 6GB or more of RAM and at least 128GB of storage. It will also have a 5G connection.

The media believed that the second screen of the LG V60 ThinQ would have an “improved folding structure,” but at the moment, we do not know what it means. It may have to do with the degrees of freedom when separating the two halves.
