The low-end segment is always characterized by having the least expensive mobiles in the market, logically. This is where companies like Lava usually make a strong presence.
India is an emerging market in which many launches of low-end smartphones exist. That is the Lava Z71 is a mobile that comes to enlarge the family of cheap mobiles in that country, as it has been launched there with a price of not more than 90 US dollars. Its value for money is remarkable because it offers features and specifications that exceed expectations.
This new smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch screen that is capable of producing an HD + resolution based on an 18: 9 display formats. It has a stylized notch in the form of a drop of water that houses a 5 MP selfie camera with support for “soft flash.”
The rear camera system is composed of two sensors: a primary one of 13 MP and a secondary one for the blur effect of 2 MP. Of course, it is supported by an LED flash, which is located just below the photographic module.
A MediaTek Helio A22 chipset powers the Lava Z71. This SoC is paired with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded utilizing a microSD card of up to 256 GB capacity. Price and availability
The Lava comes with an affordable price of Rs 6,299, which equals about 88 US dollars. The phone will be available for purchase in Flipkart and comes in two color variants: steel blue and ruby red.
Lava is well known in India for being the manufacturer recently selected by Google to manufacture one of the devices of its Android One line (The Lava Pixel V1) that is focused on offering low-cost equipment with very good specifications in countries with developing economies.
So far, we do not know about its global availability. It is now available in Flipkart and available for the Indian market only. We will update this post if there is any rumor or possibility of its global expansion.
Who is Lava?
In India, the manufacturer already has 10% of the market, as mentioned by Chawla, where they are selling approximately 2.3 million units per month. Due to this enormous success, the company has considered an ambitious expansion plan not only in India but also in the rest of the world, starting in Latin America with Mexico.
Although Lava is not a representative brand in Mexico, little by little, it has been gaining popularity among consumers. Thanks to its interesting catalog of products, most of them are designed exclusively to compete within emerging markets.
