Coolpad launches a new phone again, one that this time is not a low-end or a medium-performance phone to which the company has accustomed us. Why do we say this? It has the latest 5G connection.
The new Coolpad Legacy 5G clearly stands out. It is powered by Snapdragon 765 chipset and compatible with 5G networks as the name suggests.
The new device comes with a 6.53-inch FullHD Plus screen. It has a typical raindrop notch held by fairly small frames. Moreover, the powerful processor works together with a 4 GB RAM and internal storage space of 64 GB. This storage can be expanded using a microSD card of up to 128 GB.
According to sources, it weighs little. Thanks to its plastic cover. In addition, for those who like to use wired headphones, it will have a 3.5mm jack port. On the backside, you will find a twin camera. They have 48 and 8 megapixels sensor. On top, there is a 16-megapixel front camera.
The battery supports the phone for long hours with 4,000 mAh capacity. It doesn’t stop there! This huge battery supports QuickCharge 4.0 fast charging technology. The Legacy 5G also has an audio jack on the top and speakers tuned by THX, and the Android 10 factory preinstalled.
The Coolpad Legacy 5G has only one SIM slot and also miss the NFC feature. However, it has support for sub-6 GHz 5G networks, which are more stable and wider range than 5G networks that use the mmWave frequency. This device will be particularly useful for those in the US.
Why 5G inn CoolPad is Promising Feature
The fifth generation of mobile network technologies will be the new internet connection standard. It has unmatched speed, coverage, and responsiveness.
So far, we already know the few devices with 5G connections in the market. There are options such as the LG V50 ThinQ, the Huawei Mate X, and the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G. However, in case you are wondering what will be the cheapest option to fully utilize 5G, Coolpad Legacy 5G is the cheapest we know so far.
Compared to 4g, the 5G will be 20 times faster. It will have a maximum download speed of 20 Gb / s and will have a communication latency of 4 milliseconds (similar to fiber-optic networks).
5G connections are said to be great human history and not just smartphones. Thanks to its speed, the smartphone sensors, cars, and even robots can use this fast connection and avoid the delay of communication between devices and servers.
Price and availability
The device has just been announced in CES 2020. Therefore, we can say that it will be on the market in the second quarter of this year. Surprisingly, this 5G smartphone will only cost 400 USD. A price that hopefully opens up more possibilities for 5G penetration at an affordable price.
According to the official announcement, interested buyers can buy it on Amazon or on the Coolpad official website.
