Chinese manufacturer, Oppo, is getting set to release its latest 5G smartphone, Oppo Reno 3 series. Now, the company has officially confirmed that the devices will go official in its home country on 26th December and the event will take place in Hangzhou. The company has revealed this information through its official Weibo account. Talking about the two phones, Oppo is expected to launch two smartphones under its new Reno 3 series, Reno 3 5G and Reno 3 Pro 5G. As the name suggests, both the phones will come with 5G support for dual-mode SA/NSA5G connectivity.
As speculated earlier, we have a clue that while the Oppo Reno 3 Pro will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G chip, the standard model will use a MediaTek 5G chip. In terms of body thickness, the Reno 3 Pro is 7.7mm while the Reno 3 body thickness is 7.96mm. However the standard Reno 3 will have a water drop notch with a slightly sizable bezel at the bottom, while the Reno 3 Pro 5G rocks a punch-hole cut out at the top left-corner to accommodate the selfie snapper. Both the phones will have vertically-arranged quad-cameras at the back and would run on the latest ColorOS 7 out of the box. Both the smartphones will have an in-display fingerprint sensor for added security.
Now talking about both the phones separately, according to recently released teaser video showed off the rear design of the Reno 3 Pro 5G which has a metal frame, curved edges, and a unique gradient finish. The OPPO Reno 3 Pro is officially confirmed to equip the Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 765G processor which is clocked at 2.4GHz. The device will be 7.7mm thick, claiming it to be the world’s thinnest dual-mode 5G smartphone and weighs less than 180grams. According to the TENAA listing, the Reno 3 Pro 5G will include a 6.5-inch full-HD+ (1080×2400 pixels) AMOLED display and has an aspect ratio of 20:9 paired with 8GB and 12GB of RAM. On the rear, there will be a quad-camera setup that is composed of 48MP + 13MP + 8MP + 2MP camera sensors. On the front, there will be a 32MP sensor. Finally, the listing reveals that the Reno 3 Pro 5G runs Android 10 OS. The handset will have a 4,025mAh battery despite a slim form factor.
Coming to the OPPO Reno 3 model, it is expected that the Reno 3 has a 6.4-inch OLED display that will offer 1080 x 2400 pixels full HD+ resolution. It is powered by 2.1GHz octa-core processor which is likely to be Helio P70 SoC. The phone will have 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB internal storage with a microSD card slot for additional storage.
The OPPO Reno 3 is also said to feature a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel secondary shooter, a 13-megapixel lens and a 2-megapixel sensor. A 32-megapixel camera is tipped to sit on the front side for selfies and video chats. The device may arrive with a beefy 4,500mAh battery with 30W VOOC 4.0 fast charging support. It could be coming in colours like Blue, Red, Black and White.
It is believed that Oppo will bring almost all the necessary features that will make it compete against the Redmi K30 5G and other affordable 5G smartphones slated to be launched in the coming months. So let’s wait for few more days to actually see what the brand has got for Oppo lovers and especially for those who are desperately waiting for Oppo 5G phones.
