Resident Evil 3 Remake Officially Announced With Release Date

Resident Evil 3 Remake Officially Announced With Release Date

A remake of Resident Evil 3 has officially been announced.

The video game was unofficially revealed last week when the game’s cover art leaked on the PlayStation Store but the game was officially announced during Sony PlayStation’s State Of Play today (December 10), a video designed to announce and share a first look at new games.

The announcement was included a trailer for the game, showcasing its brand new graphics and over-the-shoulder camera perspective similar to the Resident Evil 2 remake which released earlier this year.

Capcom, the game publisher behind the remake, also revealed that the multiplayer game Resident Evil: Project Resistance isn’t its own game but a multiplier addition to the Resident Evil 3 remake which will be included at launch.

Most importantly, the announcement included an official release date for the game, set to launch April 3rd, 2020, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The game will see players follow Jill Valentine from the first Resident Evil game as she tries to escape the zombie-plagued Raccoon City while being stalked by the terrifying Nemesis, a hulking creature and the main villain of the game.

Sony PlayStation’s State Of Play

Other announcements made during Sony’s fourth State Of Play included the release of Untitled Goose Game on the PlayStation 4, set for a release on December 17th. The game follows a troublesome goose as he wreaks havoc on a village.

The State Of Play also premiered a trailer for Spellbreak, a new battle royale game which combines role-playing and magic spell-based combat. Reports suggest that a closed beta for the game will begin in Spring 2020 before being officially released later in the year.

Upcoming video game Dreams also got a release date for February 14th 2020. The game, which has been developed by Media Molecule, was announced back in 2015 but has undergone several delays. It allows users to create and share content in the form of video games.

Predator: Hunting Grounds also received a release date after being teased back in May. The multiplayer game, based on the film of the same name, is set to be released April next year and a trailer premiered during the video, showing multiple playable Predators.

The State Of Play also included the announcement of new PSVR game Paper Beast which has a release date of early 2020 as well as an announcement that Kingdom Hearts III will be receiving DLC titled Re:mind in January.

Lastly, the State Of Play concluded with a short trailer for Sucker Punch’s eagerly awaited Ghost Of Tsushima which, according to the State Of Play, will be showcased at The Game Awards this Thursday (December 12).

It’s rumoured that several other games will be announced and shown at the event, including FromSoftware’s upcoming video game Elden Ring and Warner Bros. Montreal’s new Batman game Batman: Arkham Legacy which will reportedly follow the Court Of Owls storyline from the Batman comics.
