Apple’s New Mac Pro To Be Available For Pre-Orders From Dec 10

Apple announced the new Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR back at WWDC 2019 and now we know when we will be able to order one. The discovery was made by Marque Brownlee from an email that Apple sent to its customers, as reported by The Verge.

The company said that the Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR would be available sometime ‘this fall’. Last month, a report by Bloomberg confirmed that Apple would still be shipping the devices in December but today’s email is the first confirmation of an actual date.

According to Apple’s announcement email, the Mac Pro and the Mac Pro XDR will be ‘available to order’ on December 10. The date still meets Apple’s release window as winter doesn’t officially start until 21 of this month. Given the fact that many customers will likely be ordering custom configurations, shipping may take longer.

The entry-level Mac Pro that is priced at $5,999 gives an octa-core Intel Xeon CPU, Radeon Pro 580X, 32GB memory, and 256GB SSD. The higher 32-inch Pro Display XDR starts at $4,999 but you will need to buy the controversial $999 stand that isn’t included in the $4,999 package.

In terms of specifications, the all-new Mac Pro will get you 28-core Intel processors, up to 1.5TB of ECC RAM, up to 4TB of SSD storage and an AMD Radeon Pro Vega II graphics with 64GB of HBM2 graphics. In addition to these previously announced specs, the company also assured that it will support up to six streams of 8K footage.

The hardware will definitely cost you a lot and are geared towards the true pros in the development, video and audio industries. Those in other fields who have no need for the top-notch the can go for a MacBook Pro, iMac Pro or even a Mac Mini.
