A new leak has suggested that Horizon Zero Dawn may be released on PC very soon.
Trustworthy video games leaker Anton Loginov, who correctly predicted the PC release of Death Stranding, has suggested that Guerrilla Games’ Horizon Zero Dawn will be released on PC very soon.
In a video, Loginov suggests that the game will be “available on PC in February next year” and that the official announcement for the PC release will be unveiled “soon”. However, many fans have questioned the leak, as the game was originally released on PlayStation 4 back in 2017.
What’s more, the game was developed as a PlayStation exclusive since Guerrilla Games, the developer of Horizon Zero Dawn, is a first-party studio owned by PlayStation. Death Stranding, meanwhile, was released amid a partnership between Kojima Productions and PlayStation so a PC release makes more sense.
It’s unknown whether or not Horizon Zero Dawn will be released on PC but if Loginov’s leak is correct, we may see an announcement at the Game Awards on December 12th. The event is an annual celebration of recent achievements within the video games industry and is regularly used as a platform for new game announcements.
Rumours have suggested that Warner Bros. Montreal will be announcing new Batman game Batman: Arkham Legacy at the event, and that we’ll also see more of FromSoftware’s upcoming game Elden Ring which was announced back at E3 2019. So it’s possible that we may see an announcement for Horizon Zero Dawn there.
Horizon Zero Dawn 2
Although the many fans remain sceptical that the game will be released on PC, Guerrilla Games has been dropping hints suggesting that a sequel to the game is currently in development.
The game developer posted several job positions, one of which is a Technical Vegetation Artist who will reportedly focus on creating “vegetation assets that are sed to dress the game world” and someone who will “collaborate with other Guerrilla developers to meet the narrative, quest, and design requirements”.
According to Gamebyte, the job listing also read: “Within Guerrilla, we have four teams dedicated to creating the stunning environments of Horizon [and] one team focuses on the creation of lush and stunning vegetation.”
With the PlayStation 5 looming in the distance and set for a Holiday 2020 release, many fans of the sci-fi game have theorised that a sequel may release alongside the next-generation console as a launch game.
Other fans have claimed that the game may not be released for another year or two after the PS5 console drops, joining other potential PS4 exclusive sequels such as God Of War 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which is heavily rumoured to release Christmas 2021.
Until then, we have the Game Awards to look forward to on December 12th where we may see a slew of new announcements potentially including the newly leaked Resident Evil 3 and the new Crash Bandicoot game.
