A new Batman game from Warner Bros. Montreal is expected to be announced next month.
The leak was revealed in a post by YouTube channel SLCMOF which claims that the new game, titled Batman: Arkham Legacy, will be announced at The Game Awards 2019 on December 12th.
The event is an annual awards ceremony that focuses on honouring achievements in the video games industry but also acts as a place for developers to announce upcoming games and expansion packs.
According to the YouTube channel, the information comes from a source who had previously leaked the cancelled Damian Wayne Batman game. ComicBook.com reports that the leak has been supported by The Arkham Channel who claims the source is trustworthy.
The new game will reportedly be set in the Batman Arkham series which includes previous releases Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, Batman: Arkham Knight by Rocksteady and Batman: Arkham Origins by Warner Bros. Montreal.
Although that was all the information the YouTube channel had to confirm, SLCMOF did state that they will be revealing additional information about the game soon, although they didn’t state when.
News of the rumour sparked excitement among fans who have been waiting for a brand new game since the release of Rocksteady’s Batman: Arkham Knight in 2015, the fastest-selling game in the Arkham series.
However, rumours of a new Batman game by Warner Bros. Montreal have been rife since the studio began to post strange images on the social sites, prompting fans to theorise that the new game could be focused on the Court Of Owls storyline from the Batman comics.
A Second Video Game Announcement
There are also rumours that FromSoftware’s upcoming game Elden Ring will be shown at The Game Awards 2019. The video game, which was originally announced at E3 2019, hasn’t received a release date but a new report suggests we may soon get more information, according to WCCFTECH.
IGN Middle East shared an image on the company’s Instagram suggesting that the game will be shown in December at the awards ceremony. It was also suggested that the game will be released in early 2020.
A leak from last month also revealed what may be first details of the game suggesting that it will feature combat close to the Souls series and that players will receive powers from bosses that are integrated into to combos.
Not much else is known about the game other than that it is will most likely feature the difficulty FromSoftware games are known for and that the game is currently in development for PC and consoles, similar to FromSoftware’s latest release Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
However, it looks like we’ll have to wait until next December to hear more information and confirmation about both games. If the leaks are true, it seems that the Game Awards 2019 is going to be a giant event and we can’t wait for it.
