Soon after the Samsung Galaxy S11 design leak via CAD-based render, the phone has been allegedly spotted on Geekbench now, tipping its key specifications. An early Geekbench test for a Galaxy S11 model has been discovered online with model number SM-G986B. This model number has long been associated with the Samsung Galaxy S11. Therefore, the new listing has revealed what are likely to be the key Samsung Galaxy S11 specifications. The listing was first spotted by a tipster on Weibo.
The phone scores 427 and 2326 in this early Geekbench 5 test and this is where the not so great news comes in for a 2020 premium flagship smartphone; thereby, we would advise you to take the news with a pinch of salt. Further, Geekbench listing includes the use of the Exynos 9830 processor, although that’s likely to be replaced by a Qualcomm part in some territories. Exynos 9830 is actually the Exynos 990, which is the 7nm flagship chipset with integrated 5G modem made on the EUV process that Samsung announced a few months ago. It also appears that the phone will run Android 10 out of the box and feature 12GB of RAM, expected to be the highest RAM variant. It’s possible that it is just the 5G model, however. Other versions will likely ship with a couple of gigabytes fewer. Also, The Geekbench listing reveals the Samsung Galaxy S11 will have eight cores and a clock speed of 1.95GHz.
As per the earlier leaks, Samsung Galaxy S11 is expected to come with curved edged 6.7-inch SAMOLED display with centre-aligned punch-hole cut out, 20:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate with QHD+ resolution. It is expected to pack with an in-display fingerprint sensor and there’s even talk of a huge 108-megapixel camera around the back with a five-camera setup on the rear panel. The cameras are believed to come with features such as 5x optical zoom, Deep Fusion-like technology, Space Zoom, Single Take Photo, Director’s View, Night Hyper lapse, an impressive 8K video recording, and much more supported by a 25W fast charging.
Samsung Galaxy S11 3 models
As rumoured earlier, Samsung Galaxy S11 series is set to come in three variants at least – Samsung Galaxy S11, Samsung Galaxy S11+, and Samsung Galaxy S11e. The Samsung Galaxy S11+ is said to come in 5G only, while the other two are expected to come in 4G and 5G variants.
For now, nothing has been made official related to the pricing of the phone but we expect it to be definitely on the higher ends. However, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S11 along with its sibling in mid-February, right before MWC 2020. Till then we expect more leaks ahead of time too, as tends to be the way with Samsung’s flagship phones. So keep following us and be updated to the world of tech.
