Chinese smartphone maker Realme is gearing up to hit another milestone with the launch of its first 5G smartphone. This big announcement has been made through the company’s social media channels in China. Actually, Realme China CMO Xu Qi Chase through Weibo post has confirmed that Realme will launch the X50 5G phone in China very soon.
The post comes with a poster which reveals Realme X50 5G phone to support for dual-mode 5G which means support for Standalone (SA) and Non-Standalone (NSA) modes. Further Realme China CMO in his Weibo post dissected the meaning of X50 in which X denotes X series, 5 signifies the first Realme 5G phone and 0 represents the oncoming leap year 20202.
Apart from these details, the company has not revealed anything related to the specifications of this upcoming smartphone. Neither the Realme executive nor the company itself has revealed whether the Realme X50 will rely on a MediaTek SoC or a Qualcomm SoC to offer 5G support. However, we expect the device to come powered by Qualcomm’s 5G chipset. It remains to be seen if the company positions the phone as a flagship or upper mid-range.
Along with dual-mode NSA and SA 5G network, just like the upcoming Redmi K30 5G, the phone will leverage the prevailing 4G networks besides the freshly set 5G infrastructure for running sub-6GHz 5G networks. Also, Realme X50 is going to sport a pill-shaped hole-punch on the front that will house dual selfie cameras as well. The hole-punch on the Realme X50 is in the top-left corner of the display. Thus making it stand out amongst many in the row.
As we all know that smartphone brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo and Samsung are already providing 5G phones in various countries, excluding Indian market. Realme, after the launch of brands first 5G phone X50, will be able to give a tough fight to such established giants.
Realme 5G official next year
Since the announcement is made in China at the moment, the Realme 5G smartphone will likely to be announced in the Chinese market first. It is believed that Realme X50 5G phone will go official sometime in China next year, followed by the launch in other countries.
While Xiaomi’s Redmi K30 5G will be launching in December, Realme X50 launch date and pricing are still under the garbs. After this announcement through Weibo, we expect the company to start teasing its features in the coming weeks as well. Till then keep following us for more leaks, news and updates.
