Amazon Echo has become a well-known brand in the sound industry over the years. Introduced in 2014 by the Seattle-based technology giant Amazon, smart speakers under the name of Echo made their entry to the vastly untouched competition at that time.
Following the fierce competition from other major rivals in the truly-wireless earbuds department, Amazon launched Echo Buds on 25th September at its annual event at the company’s Seattle headquarters.
What Are Amazon Echo Buds?
Amazon Echo Buds are the wireless earbuds that follow the footsteps of the likes of Samsung Galaxy Buds and Apple Airpods. The new earbuds from Amazon, just like its rivals, come with a carrying-cum-charging case too.
Talking about the features, Echo Buds come with a number of things to boast of. It has an in-ear design that sits well inside the ear with a protruding shall that contains the chipset and the hardware circuitry. Each earbud is fitted with 3 microphones so that each and every bit of sound is captured, in case you want to use it for calling.
You won’t get any prizes for guessing, Amazon Echo Buds have access to the company’s personal assistant service Alexa. The user can stream music, make phone calls, play audiobooks, and do just about anything that the Alexa service does in general on any of the company’s hardware.
Features Amazon Echo Buds
Talking about the earbuds’ battery life, the earbuds can playback music for up to 5 hours on a single charge. However, up to 2 hours of music playback juice can also be achieved through a quick 15-minute charge. Additionally, the Echo Buds can also gain a 20-hour music playback time using the charging-cum-carrying case.
Amazon Echo Buds enjoy Bose Active Noise Reduction, which means you don’t have to worry about the surrounding noises which generally are audible otherwise. And, that too can be turned OFF just by double-tapping the earbud piece. Also, just like the Apple Airpods, the music stops as soon as you take out earbuds and continues from the same place where you left it, when you put the earbud back in.
Echo Buds are sweat-resistant too. That said, you can go for a jog around the block or hit the gym while being assured that the earbuds can manage such sweaty activities.
Amazon Echo Buds are offered in a single color – Black. 3 different wingtips and ear tips are also included inbox so that size adjustments can be made accordingly.
Priced at $129.99 in the US, Echo Earbuds will soon be available in the UK for a price of £119.99
