Apple will launch iPhone ‘SE 2’ with A13 chip at $399: Report

Apple iPhone 8

Apple has just made the announcement of its latest iPhone 11 series which includes iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro smartphones. Also, we are aware that a new Apple event will take place later this month. This event will be regarding the launch of the latest iPad as well as MacBook devices from Apple. Now, you would be thinking that this is it as Apple is traditionally known to launch its latest devices before the holiday season.

But a new report from Apple analyst Ming Chi-Kuo says otherwise. He has revealed in his latest report that Apple will launch an iPhone SE 2 which is the second-generation iPhone SE. For those of you who are unaware, iPhone SE was a redesigned version of the iPhone 5S with latest specifications so that the display was smaller but the performance was on par with the iPhone 7 which was latest at that time. Similarly, we are going to have an iPhone SE 2 which will have the design of Apple’s iPhone 8. However, the specifications will be the same as the latest iPhone 11 series.

Now, you can say that this is a refurbished version of the iPhone 8 like iPhone SE was refurbished version of the iPhone 5 series. However, it is the price of iPhone SE 2 which has got everyone talking regarding the upcoming device. Because Ming Chi-Kuo predicts that the iPhone SE 2 will be sold at a starting price of $399 only. Note that the device is expected to come with an Apple A13 chip which beats the current flagship chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 855 series.

While we can expect to see some compromises made by Apple in the device, it is still great to see Apple launching a phone in the upper mid-range segment apart from its flagship phones. As far as the report’s legitimacy is concerned, Ming Chi-Kuo is extremely accurate when it comes to Apple leaks and he has never been wrong in the past.
